My shopping trip ( and how I threw 50 bucks down the drain)

Have you ever experienced a time when you feel like you've wasted your money on something which was not worth the price you paid? Well yes, that was how I felt this evening.

Today, my 2 housemates and I went to Sungei Wang for shopping- to celebrate our freedom. I had more than enough clothes in my wadrobe, so I wasn't feeling the need to buy any clothes. I just wanted to accompany my housemates, relax myself and do some window shopping.

The monorails arriving at the Hang Tuah station were JAM PACKED. So much so that right after housemate Li Cin managed to squeeze herself into the first monorail that arrived- housemate Fang Han and I were left behind their was simply no more room left for us to squeeze into. Ah- I should've taken a photo of that!

I managed to buy a pair of 3/4 jeans ( never had one- but then I realized that it would come in handy during rainy days when the roads and pavements would be soggy and soil the edges of full length jeans).

Then I walked into Attributes and after browsing around brought some cute stickers. Bought a pair of hair clips as well.

My housemates walked into almost every cloth boutique- I've to admit sort of bored me a little. I was never into clothes when I was younger.....maybe now yes.....but when you are not intending to buy anything, you kind of lost interest a little, you know ;) Oh- Comma the best fashion design ever! Contemplated buying a white gown there (it costs about RM60) but then decided after trying it on ( it actually didn't look bad on me!) that I wouldn't be using it anyways especially since I wouldn't be going to the IMU Ball. ( No guy to escort me you know! ;) )

To my pleasant surprise....when I walked into a music store- they were selling cassettes with the promotion of buy 1 get 2 free! Too tempted to resist- I spent a long time selecting the cassettes.

So far so good. I was spending my money wisely, or so I thought.

Then 'tragedy' struck. Housemate Li Cin wanted to buy a new earphone for her handset because her previous one was destroyed by her little brother. And then I remembered that I had been wanting to get something, just anything that would enable me to transfer pictures from my handphone to my laptop. They did indeed sell Nokia USB cables- for RM 50 each. And guess what....I bought it. Should've called my mom first and asked her where did she put the USB cable ( it was originally her phone- she exchanged it with me one day). But no- I was too excited to get one that I bought it first. And then when I called her later on- she said that it was in the box she posted to be quite a while back. Arrrghhhh.....

So I suddenly wanted to return the USB cable back and get a refund. But alas.....I found out that items in Malaysia are non-refundable. K....now I really miss the times I was in UK....whereby as long as I keep the receipt, I could return back the goods intact (for anything except perishable goods) and get a refund.

So yes- I lost my mood for shopping any longer- and refused to buy a pair of shoes my housemates urged me to try on. ('You should trywearing high heels- it makes you look taller, you know!)

And yes, when I returned home, I found it in my computer bag, entangled with all sorts of other cables.

And worse still- when I tried installing the cable using the installation CD my mum posted to me- my laptop couldn't start the Installation Wizard! Arrgghhh.....

Oh yeah- of course I am pissed off with myself. Way to spend my money!


Anyways...on another note....Cardiovascular system starting on Monday. Can't believe we are already into the systems course already. How fast time flies when you don't realize it!
